Dining Out For Life

The AIDS crisis is more than 25 years old but is still devastating world populations. In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that one-in-five individuals are unaware of his/her HIV status, and people over the age of 50 are the fastest growing group to contract the virus. There are effective solutions to slowing this epidemic and simple ways to help those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Dining Out For Life® sponsored by Subaru of America, Inc. is a simple, yet substantial way to contribute to the cause while enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner with friends or family. Thursday, April 29th marks the one-day fundraiser where nearly 3,000 restaurants in over fifty cities across the U.S. and Canada participate by donating a generous percentage of proceeds from the day's meals to a local AIDS service organization. Money raised in each city stays in that city!

Support for this event has grown to over 250,000 diners, thanks in large part to the efforts of Dining Out For Life Spokesperson Ted Allen, host of Food Network's primetime competition series Chopped. Allen will be joined by Pam Grier, actress, advocate and author of a soon-to-be released memoir Foxy--My Life In Three Acts. Both will appear with Food Network's newest Iron Chef, Jose Garces in a Public Service Announcement produced by Shooters, Inc. Additionally, singer Felipe Rose best known as the Native American Indian of The World Famous Village People, has volunteered to join the cause as Social Ambassador rallying supporters to Dine Out via social media on April 29th.

Subaru is proud Host Sponsor of Dining Out For Life. Media Partners are: CBS Station Group, DiningOut magazine, Open Table, Sirius/XM and Yelp.com. Numerous regional sponsors also provide crucial support to the event in each city. Making a difference is as easy as eating out!
