SUBARU RETURNS TO REBELLE RALLY WITH CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING SUBARU FORESTER HYBRID

  • Two-time champions Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer return with specially prepared 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid
  • Lando and Shaffer claimed X-Cross class win last year in 2025 Forester Hybrid
  • Rebelle Rally begins Oct. 8, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and concludes Oct. 16, 2026, at the Imperial Sand Dunes in Southern California

Subaru of America, Inc. today announced Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer will return to the Rebelle Rally in 2026, driving a specially prepared 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid and competing as Team 200 in the X-Cross class. Lando and Shaffer claimed the X-Cross class win in 2025 behind the wheel of the Forester Hybrid.

The Rebelle Rally challenges teams across more than 1,500 miles of desert terrain using traditional maps, compass, and roadbooks, without GPS or electronic navigation.

For 2026, Team 200 will again compete in a modified 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid built to demonstrate the capabilities of an AWD crossover in demanding terrain. The vehicle features a 3-inch suspension lift via RaceWorks coilovers and RalliTEK adjustable arms, 30-inch Milestar Patagonia A/T Pro tires, underbody protection from Anderson Design & Fabrication, a TORQ locker, recovery equipment, Diode Dynamics auxiliary lighting, and additional modifications.

“Part of what makes the Rebelle so compelling is that it rewards thoughtful driving, preparation, teamwork, and good decision-making rather than outright speed,” Lando said. “The Forester Hybrid is such an interesting vehicle for this challenge because it lets us explore what a hybrid crossover can do when you take it well beyond where people expect to see one. We want to show that a hybrid can do hard things too.”

Their 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid has already tackled many iconic western trails including Hell’s Revenge in Moab, Utah, as well as Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass in Colorado.

Its 2026 livery also reflects the spirit of Team 200. Developed collaboratively by Lando and the vehicle’s livery designer B. Stubbs Vinyl & Graphix, the graphics blend elements of Lando’s longtime MtnSubi Outback design with Subaru’s classic stage rally heritage. The result visually connects the Rebelle Rally's adventure-focused nature with the unmistakable look and spirit of rally competition.

Team 200 selected The Bluebird Fund as its nonprofit beneficiary for the 2026 Rebelle Rally. The organization works to expand access and opportunity in motorsports through grants supporting safety, development, and participation, including opportunities for women in motorsport.

The 2026 Rebelle Rally runs Oct. 7-17, 2026. Fans can follow Team 200 and the competition through Subaru, MtnSubi, and Rebelle Rally channels.
