SUBARU OUTBACK GOES TO FORTH WORTH WINNER AT SPECIAL OLYMPICS TEXAS
 

RECORD-SETTING SUBARU BRAND ON A SALES ROLL IN TX

Subaru of America's Dallas Region celebrated 13 months of sales growth by presenting Tamiko Bailey of Fort Worth with a 2011 Subaru Outback. Ms. Bailey won in the award-winning crossover in a raffle conducted by Special Olympics Texas' (SOTX) Over the Edge fundraiser in Austin on November 2.

Participants were required to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the chance to rappel off the InterContinental hotel and donators were entered for a chance to win the Outback. Bailey made a $50 donation to toss her boss, SOTX board member Rudy Lopez, over the edge.

Bailey was presented with the keys to her new Outback on November 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brandon Tomes Subaru Dealership in McKinney. SOTX president and CEO, Margaret Larsen; Greater Fort Worth area athlete, Colby Bannister; Bob and Brandon Tomes of Brandon Tomes Subaru; and Dave Dunlap and Troy Poston, Subaru, also attended.

Emulating its national success where the company has already announced record sales for 2010, Subaru's Dallas Region has posted 13 consecutive months of increases and a has a noteworthy 53% increase in sales so far in 2010.

Troy Poston, Director of the Dallas region for Subaru, said, "Being a native Texan, I'm proud that Subaru of America worked with Special Olympics Texas on such a unique fundraising event like 'Over the Edge.' The events in Dallas, Houston and Austin were a success and I'm glad that we are able to cap off the events by delivering our winner her Subaru Outback right here in Dallas."

Tamiko Bailey is the Manager of U.S. government contracts for Bell Aerospace Services Inc., an affiliate of Bell Helicopter. She also co-owns non-profit Praxy Ministries and is a member of Legacy Community Church in Fort Worth. Bailey was first introduced to Special Olympics while serving in the U.S. Air Force and has continued to volunteer with the organization through Bell Helicopter-sponsored events.
