SUBARU TECNICA INTERNATIONAL TO BRING RECORD DRIVER ENTRIES FOR LOS ANGELES GRC
As presenting sponsor of the Los Angeles Red Bull Global Rallycross double header race, Subaru Tecnica International (STI) will support Subaru Rally Team USA with fielding the largest entry of Subaru factory drivers seen in years. Travis Pastrana and David Higgins will join season regulars Bucky Lasek and Sverre Isachsen at the September 12-13 event.
Red Bull Global Rallycross of LA Presented by Subaru Tecnica International returns to the Port of San Pedro with main events on both September 12th and 13th. In addition to entering the team’s top talent, STI will present the largest display of Subaru performance heritage vehicles ever seen in the USA. The LA round is the next stop for Subaru Rally Team USA, followed by the Barbados double header October 3-4 and the season finale in Las Vegas November 4th.
Co-developed by Vermont SportsCar and Subaru Tecnica International, the WRX STI rallycross car features a spec 2.0L Subaru BOXER engine producing nearly 600HP, a Sadev 6-speed sequential transmission, all-wheel drive, and METHOD Race Wheels, that’s capable of 0-60 in 2 seconds. Rallycross cars compete on tracks made of tarmac, dirt, and jumps through a series of heats leading into a ten car final event.
Named a 2015 AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star, the 2015 WRX STI is the weapon of choice for Subaru Rally Team USA; featuring a turbocharged 305HP Subaru BOXER engine, Subaru Symmetrical All-wheel Drive, plus enhanced performance technologies like Vehicle Dynamics Control with Active Torque Vectoring, Driver Controlled Center Differential, and Brembo performance brakes.
